About We Teach Tacoma
We Teach Tacoma began as a blog about contract talks between the Tacoma Education Association and the Tacoma School Board. We Teach Tacoma has continued as a communication on labor relations, news, and actions. We Teach Tacoma is hosted by members of the Tacoma Education Association: Tacoma teachers, librarians, therapists, school nurses, counselors, office professionals and technology experts. We’re the people who educate the 28,000 students in Tacoma Public Schools.

Correction: You are NOT the people who are educating 28,000 Students.
You are teaching children its okay to break the law if you don’t get what you want. Is that what our children should be learning?
get back to work and start showing the 28,000 students how to obey the LAW… instead of blaming “The District” for the situation you’re in… too bad you can’t recognize that you’re being used by the union to send a message. It really is all about power isn’t it? You have it, students/parents don’t.
The picket captains have those great purple hats. Is there any way we can order purple t- shirts or sweatshirts that say “We Teach Tacoma?” I could have one made myself, but it would be great to have one design that everybody could order. I am proud to be a Tacoma teacher, and I want to let people know!
